The Setagaya Ward Sports Promotion Foundation is a public interest incorporated foundation that aims to solve global issues through the international goals set by the United Nations.
We support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As an organization involved in people's health, including nurturing future generations who will be responsible for creating a sustainable society, we hope to contribute to achieving the goals through our business activities.

Food Drive
We ask households to bring unused, unopened food and beverage items that they are unable to use to the Setagaya City General Athletic Grounds Gymnasium, General Athletic Grounds Heated Pool, Okura Second Athletic Ground, and Chitose Heated Pool, and provide them to local welfare organizations (about twice a year).

Paper cup recycling
At the Setagaya 246 Half Marathon, paper cups used at water stations are collected and, with the cooperation of Corelex Shinei Co., Ltd., recycled into toilet paper.
At the 20th event, approximately 108 kg (approximately 15,428 cups) of used paper cups were recycled into 302 rolls of toilet paper, reducing CO² emissions by 61.4%.

Collection of used clothing
We are cooperating with the "Fukunowa Project" with the aim of contributing to the promotion of SDGs through promoting the reuse of clothing. Clothing collection boxes are set up at the following locations. Donated clothing is donated to parasports organizations through the Sankei Shimbun newspaper.
Protecting the abundance of the ocean
We are conducting a SUP cruise and Tama River cleanup. While learning about the nature of the Tama River from an instructor, we also participate in a SUP cruise and clean-up activities on the sandbar of the Tama River.
Protecting the abundance of the land
We are conducting a one-day running clinic x plogging event. After running in Futako Tamagawa Green Sports Ground, we will be cleaning up the grounds, combining sports and social contribution activities.

[1. Collaborative efforts with the local community]
In preparation for all kinds of risks in the event of a natural disaster, we focus on disaster resilience and regularly conduct evacuation drills and life-saving courses at each facility, as well as prepare and inspect disaster preparedness supplies.
We also work with local residents to clean up the area in front of Chitose-Funabashi Station and to create flower beds in collaboration with local elementary schools, promoting the creation of a safe and secure town.

In order to realize facility operations that are "easy to understand and use for everyone," each facility is taking the following measures.

Buying Green Bonds
As part of our efforts to contribute to society through the management of the fund, we purchase "green bonds" issued by local governments.

Bonds issued to raise funds for projects that contribute to solving environmental problems (green projects), such as measures to combat global warming and promoting the introduction of renewable energy sources.
